Scoping sessions at Divante

It’s a service created for our clients to help them reduce the risk associated with starting an IT project. The stages of Scoping Sessions allow the client and Divante to know and prepare the project scope, plan its specific stages and define the budget and timeline. This service is not only a meeting with the client and the Divante team.
It’s a more complex process that may last from three to six weeks and consist of several phases that help us to create a proper plan and strategy that takes into account your business needs.

Our experienced team will help you kick off the project in the best possible manner in order to deliver predictable results.

  • Timeline and the budget

    Timeline and the budget

You’re not taking a bigger risk by investing money in a project that won’t meet your business’s requirements. After workshops you’ll be aware of how much time this project will take and when you’ll see the first results.

For a client, it is absolutely a must to be able to see the scope, budget, and timelines and plan accordingly. It is also important for us to be able to plan the engagement of appropriate resources on a project and make development a reasoned process. Only with quality planning can we have good control of the project and its outcomes. I’ve heard a saying, “An hour of planning saves 10 hours in development!” This is actually not true, as one hour of planning can save so much more than 10 hours in development.

Timeline of the Scoping Sessions

All phases of our Scoping Session service are important because, from the very beginning, you can get to know us better and see if our proposition fits your needs.

Every step is an opportunity to better understand your business goals
and adjust the solution accordingly.

  • Intro

It’s an introductory 30-minute call with our eCommerce consultant. During this phase, we want to understand if this service is exactly what you need at this point and help provide you the best possible value. It is possible we even suggest a different service of ours, that might be a better fit for your specific needs.

  • Warm-up call

    Warm-up call

We like to start preparing for the workshop phase with a warm-up call. At this phase, we’ll add a tech specialist on our end, in order to give our discussion a proper technical edge. During this call, we’ll establish what form of the Scoping Session will make the most sense for your specific case. After the call, we’re well equipped to confirm the right team composition and approach as well as the deliverables that will follow.

  • Workshop

Workshops usually last between one and two business days and are now held online. From the Divante side, there’s usually a Tech Architect, Product Designer, Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Business/eCommerce Consultant. From the client’s team, usually, there are some business stakeholders, Product Owners, and if the project is about integrations, a Lead Developer.

  • Analysis

After we’ve finalized our workshops, we need to do an analysis of all the details we’ve gathered. This is where we prepare the final deliverables that will be handed to you.

We received valuable guidance not only on general development but also on architecture, product, and business matters. It is an entrepreneurial company that offered our project a great deal of attention and hyper care. The team is young, vibrant, and very involved in the process. “The Scoping Session with Divante was one the earliest decisions that we made at the beginning of our project. In a matter of a few sessions with Divante’s team, we got a very comprehensive overview of the technology landscape and best business practices.
